iClone 6 is a real-time 3D animation program that allows the user to create full-length, professional animations with ease. Now, some may say the learning curve for iClone is much too high for a beginner. While there may be some truth in that, it is still a lot easier than more profound animation programs such as Blender, or Unity. Aside from that, there are still massive amounts of YouTube tutorials that walk newbies through the learning process Reallusion themselves put out extremely detailed tutorials for anyone who is not adapt to working the program. There is also a very good online community that always seem to want to help out people with any questions they may have.
Easily the biggest feature in this version has got to be the long awaited Character Creator. This feature literally allows the user to create an unlimited amount of usable customized characters. Before this feature, 3D characters could be found online but had to be formatted with the iClone software. This feature eliminates the need to find characters on the internet since the user is allowed to create as many characters they want.
The physics involved in iClone 6 have been enhanced as well. While physics from previous versions are compatible, new aspects in IC6 work much more efficient. Characters hair or clothing have a much more natural movement, thus making the overall animation seem much more life-like.
I took it upon myself to make a short video showing the in's and out's of the program. This video would be most helpful for anyone who has used previous versions of the software and also users who are completely new to the program.
CONCLUSION:
I believe that iClone 6 is a fantastic variant of the program. It is adapt to be used with both new and also experienced users of the software. The character creator alone makes this program a must-buy for any animation enthusiast.
The ability to create unlimited amount of characters is not the only aspect of the program that I enjoyed. Brand new visual enhancements and an integration with the Indigo RT renderer are amazing. Lighting in the program feels much smoother than it has in previous versions and also the overall feel of the software seems much easier to work with thanks to a completely revamped UI.
With iClone 6, users have the ability to create professional, high quality 3D animations without the need to use other programs. Everything can be done within the software. However if users desire, exporting aspects of the iClone software to other 3rd party applications can be done with ease.
Pricing for the program is respectable. With all that the program can do, I am amazed they do not charge more for it. Especially since other similar applications are priced considerably higher.
Overall I highly recommend iClone 6 for anyone, regardless if you are a hobbyist or an animation professional.
